I concur, at least, for geeks &#38; power users. I've been tinkering with Ubiquity scripts myself, and here's a link to a project I started (then abandoned) a couple years ago:

It does ... nothing. But imagine an [RESTful] CLI interface to the web, along the lines of say, yahoo pipes and the like... 

I think building a good, clean CLI vocab is akin to building a good, clean REST web service architecture, aka a good, clean API.
