PHP Wikis
I've been using the PWP Wiki locally to track references and notes for my thesis -- painless setup on windows and works well, generally and offers, unique, a static render mode. However, at Rob's suggestion, I think PmWiki may serve for surfmind, supporting rss, groups, and nested lists (but not any notion of authors). Nested lists can easily be bootstrapped to be collapsible outlines with inobtrusive dhtml.
My goals are multi-faceted:
- enable comments on surf*mind*musings in an interesting way
- ideally these could be included inline
- current plan is dynamic iframe expansion, a bit like the inline preview in surf*mind*web
- provide better topic support for crosslinking blog entries in my www world
- explore the criteria for good wiki-weblogs, like webseitz
- find a good wiki candidate for a collaborative exploration of visions of cyberspace in science fiction
- I'd like to to write speculatively on this, but want to be able to acknowledge the sources and take it a step further.
