New details on toolbar

Whether a toolbar is a final component or not -- more likely we'll have a set of buttons the user can choose to add, the toolbar is initially a way to provide easy hooks to our underlying datastructures.

Interestingly, the toolbar lives across all the tabs.  We might figure out a way to overlay the brower tabpanels such that we could get a local UI cache.

Cantebury.nz Research

Andy Cockburn and rest of the folks in Canterbury have done lots of relevant work on page revisitation and enhanced history mechanisms.

There are a few pointers on the prior art page .  One notable idea is "implicit bookmarking" for pages visited multiple times.  This is a coarser notion than the hub detector.

Annotations?

Perhaps there is potential for a free form annotation tool - might the weblog community's rapid adaption take annotation further/faster than the w3c, et al. Or, now that blogging's been capitalized, will the rapid adaption of features like autodiscovery capability change?  Or, perhaps, is annotation not the right task model?

We're committed to a datastore, so why not? Annotation may be as powerful for it's interface agility as it's communicative function.
